Mission Mangroves

Mangroves, the life supporting eco-system (maintaining wildlife habitats, food production, sustains livelihood, buffers from cyclone and storm surges, highest carbon sink and reduced climate change impacts) those are critical to economic lifeline for many poor communities in Odisha coast. Despite the many benefits that mangroves provide, they are being destroyed at an alarming rate. Our initiative is unique, because greater community partnership ensures the sustainable management, restoration of mangroves, stability of food security contributes substantially towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Our restoration sites are also protecting some rare and endangered species of reptiles, amphibians, birds etc. Community participation is the hall mark of our success and that have sustained and encouraged us to lead the way towards our mission on mangroves.
